Why helioLumen®?

Light influences us more than we think

Light controls our everyday lives. It supports activity in the morning, concentration during the day, and rest in the evening. However, modern LED lighting was primarily designed for efficiency. The natural thermal spectrum of the old incandescent bulb was lost in the process.

With its ban, the last widespread artificial light source with a continuous, sun-like spectrum disappeared.

helioLumen® deliberately takes a different approach: with reduced blue light, flicker-free operation, and intuitive dimming via multiple clicks on a normal light switch.

Technology

helioLumen®-LEDs are special lamps in the classic E26/E27 retrofit format – developed not for maximum efficiency values, but for human-centered light quality. While standard LEDs are primarily optimized for high lumen output, helioLumen® is based on the so-called black body curve — that is, natural, thermal light sources such as fire, incandescent lamps, and various states of sunlight. helioLumen® is therefore deliberately not a conventional general lighting solution, but a spectrally targeted specialty lighting product.

Clear difference in spectrum

Conventional white LEDs usually work with a blue LED and a phosphor converter.

The result is typical:

  • a pronounced blue peak at 450 nm
  • spectral gaps in the cyan and red range
  • no relevant infrared component

helioLumen® takes a fundamentally different approach:

  • more continuous, thermally inspired spectrum
  • significantly reduced blue component
  • reinforced red area
  • Integrated near-infrared component in all models

The result is a softer, deeper, and more natural-looking light.

Reduced shortwave component

High-energy short-wave light below 450 nm is deliberately reduced in helioLumen®. In warm variants such as 1800 K or 1200 K, this proportion is greatly reduced or almost non-existent – a clear difference to conventional LEDs, which still contain significant blue components even in the warm white range.

Integrated near-infrared – a unique selling point

Natural sunlight and classic incandescent light contain significant amounts of near-infrared radiation.
Standard LEDs emit virtually nothing in this range. helioLumen® specifically integrates broadband near-infrared emitters, thereby extending the spectrum beyond the purely visible range. This feature fundamentally distinguishes helioLumen® from conventional LED solutions.

Flicker-free. Dimmable. Independent.

Unlike many standard LEDs with residual flicker, all helioLumen® lamps are completely flicker-free.

Brightness and, depending on the model, light color can be controlled with multiple clicks of the normal light switch. No apps. No Wi-Fi. No external control technology.

Photobiologically developed LED

The helioLumen® LED is the first lamp to replicate the photobiological advantages of incandescent bulbs—but without their disadvantages, such as high heat generation and short service life.

Not because she is restricted in her everyday life –
but because it consciously goes beyond pure efficiency assessment. Standard assessments only measure the visible light component. helioLumen® also takes into account spectral components that are crucial for a balanced lighting effect.
