Why different filter strengths?

Different activities require customized filter strengths: Maximum protection is particularly important in the evening to support the sleep-wake rhythm, since the body reacts particularly sensitively to blue light after sunset. During the day, the tolerance for blue light is somewhat higher, but the eyes still need special protection, especially when working at a screen. For applications where the best color precision is required, a slightly higher blue component is permitted.
